Midstream Revenue/Plant Accountant
The Midstream Revenue/Plant Accountant will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our midstream company. This position will assist the VP of Revenue Accounting in handling gas processing plants and gathering system allocations. The successful candidate will assist in performing allocations, settlements, analysis, and reconciliations. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities
- Execute the monthly midstream revenue close process and perform related analysis.
- Manage various functions related to gas plant accounting and revenue allocations.
- Analyze volumetric, contractual, and financial results, explaining variances to estimates, forecasts, and prior trends.
- Apply contract terms for proper revenue recognition and customer settlement.
- Prepare timely and accurate gas plant allocations and production settlement statements or invoices in compliance with midstream service agreements.
- Collaborate with operations, marketing, and internal and external stakeholders critical to job responsibilities.
- Prepare monthly midstream revenue accruals and periodic accrual-to-actual lookbacks.
- Handle journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Document the performance of internal controls over responsible areas.
- Meet all critical closing deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred).
- 2 to 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of gas balancing and accounting transactions related to gas processing plants.
