Measurement/Analytical Technician

This position is located in Coyanosa, TX with functional reporting out of Vaquero’s Monahans, Texas office. This position will provide technical support to the Operations team on all measurement related activities, including installing, maintaining, operating measurement equipment and performing analysis on measurement data to assess measurement quality and ensure the accurate measurement of natural gas and liquids.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain gas and liquid measurement equipment. Install and program communication devices. Perform monthly calibrations of field meters, and inspection and maintenance of all equipment related to quality and measurement on both gas and liquids. Install instrumentation and equipment in new and existing measurement and/regulating facilities. Assist Operations with facility construction or modification. Collect gas and liquid samples in compliance with company safety and industry guidelines. Identify and report measurement concerns and provide technical support to the Operations team.

Qualifications

Must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent. 2+ years of pipeline and natural gas measurement operations experience. Experience with SCADA. Skilled in Microsoft Office, experience using pivot tables and multi-scale graphs in Excel, preferred. Proficient knowledge and skilled with Totalflows and PCCU software. Experience with ABB and Emerson Gas chromatographs as well as Envent and Spectra gas analyzers is a plus. Self- motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be a team player with excellent communication skills to interface with customer base. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills . Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays and respond to emergencies. Valid US driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job operates both inside gas plant conditions as well as outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Must be able to lift 25 pounds safely. Field work will involved walk and standing on rough terrain with uneven and slippery surfaces that require appropriate personal protective equipment. Must live within a 75-mile radius of company facilities
